Why tooth-colored fillings
Traditional silver amalgam fillings were once standard, but they can be noticeable and contain mercury. We use tooth-colored composite resin instead — it blends seamlessly with your natural teeth while providing durable, long-lasting protection against further decay.
What to expect during your appointment
- Examination & diagnosis – Dr. Taudel assesses your tooth and confirms a filling is the right treatment.
- Decay removal – damaged tooth structure is carefully removed while preserving healthy enamel.
- Composite application – the tooth-colored resin is layered and hardened with a curing light for a strong, seamless bond.
- Polishing & bite adjustment – the filling is shaped and polished to match your natural tooth and bite comfortably.
In cases of more severe decay, a dental crown may be recommended instead of a filling. We’ll evaluate your tooth and recommend whichever option protects it best over the long term.
